Planetary Ball Mills
Light-Duty Horizontal Planetary Ball Mill
The WXQM light-duty design mounts grinding jars horizontally on a vertical planetary disc. The changing jar orientation redistributes the media and sample during the milling cycle.
Fit for your experiment
A candidate for small-batch studies where material collects at the base of a vertical jar. Confirm the permitted jar mass and loaded weight before choosing dense media.
How to use this specification
The disc revolves while the grinding jars rotate about their own axes. Media impacts and friction act on the sample. Speed, duration, loading and jar material jointly influence the result.
Before selecting a configuration
- Define feed size, target particle size and acceptable wear contamination.
- Choose jar capacity from the working sample load, leaving room for media movement.
- Confirm balancing, clamping and any cooling or atmosphere option for the exact model.
Key features
- Horizontal jar orientation helps redistribute samples that tend to settle.
- Four stations support parallel small-batch experiments.
- Different compatible jar sizes and materials allow changes in formulation.
- Variable-frequency control supports timed milling and alternating directions.
Construction details
- A vertical planetary disc carries horizontally mounted jars.
- The symmetric station layout supports a balanced load arrangement.
- Precision gears transmit the compound motion.
- Dedicated clamps provide access for jar installation and removal.
Configuration notes
A PLC touchscreen with timing and power-interruption memory is an optional controller configuration. Confirm the fitted controls and jar set for the selected machine.

Horizontal jar arrangement
A vertical planetary disc carries horizontally mounted jars. This layout changes the direction in which the charge moves during milling.

Dedicated jar clamps
The holding arrangement secures the horizontally mounted vessels. Check jar dimensions, loaded mass and the required balance.

Controller configuration
The panel shown is a controller example. Touchscreen, timing and power-interruption functions depend on the control package selected for the order.

Precision gear transmission
Precision gears transmit the compound milling motion. The detail photograph illustrates the transmission described for this series.
Technical specifications
Compare the exact model and configuration. Nominal vessel volume is not the usable sample load. Particle-size results depend on the material and process; confirm critical values in the quotation.
