Stirred Ball Mills
Light-Duty Stirred Ball Mill
A light-duty configuration of the stirred milling family for compatible batch grinding and dispersion work. Media movement is produced by the agitator rather than rotation of the vessel.
Fit for your experiment
Match the usable load and viscosity to the drive rating. Discuss cooling and cleaning needs when comparing formulations or processing temperature-sensitive slurries.
How to use this specification
An agitator drives media through the material inside a stationary vessel or chamber. Grinding and dispersion depend on the media, slurry behavior and energy input. Cooling and circulation are configuration-dependent.
Before selecting a configuration
- Specify liquid, solids loading, viscosity and target particle size.
- Select compatible vessel surfaces, media and separation arrangements.
- Plan temperature control, sampling and cleaning between formulations.
Key features
- A larger batch vessel supports pilot process development.
- The stirrer drives media into repeated contact with the material.
- Vessel materials and cooling can be selected for the formulation.
- The setup supports trial production and process scale-up evaluation.
Construction details
- A drive shaft transmits power to the stirrer and media.
- The medium-capacity vessel contains the batch.
- A discharge valve provides a route for material collection.
- An optional jacket helps manage grinding heat.
Configuration notes
The source also covers production stirred mills. Confirm actual vessel size, drive, contact surfaces and circulation package. Laboratory results need process validation before a production output or throughput is specified.
Application requirement
Stirred-mill scale-up with slurry circulation
These notes describe application requirements and proposed configurations; they do not establish delivery or validated performance.

Technical specifications
Compare the exact model and configuration. Nominal vessel volume is not the usable sample load. Particle-size results depend on the material and process; confirm critical values in the quotation.
