Planetary Ball Mills
Ultrasonic-Assisted Planetary Ball Mill
This system combines planetary milling with ultrasonic excitation for grinding and dispersion research. It is intended for applications where the interaction between mechanical milling and ultrasound needs to be evaluated.
Fit for your experiment
Ultrasonic cavitation requires a suitable liquid medium; it is not a general mechanism for dry powders. Confirm the coupling arrangement, compatible jars and operating conditions with the technical team.
How to use this specification
The disc revolves while the grinding jars rotate about their own axes. Media impacts and friction act on the sample. Speed, duration, loading and jar material jointly influence the result.
Before selecting a configuration
- Define feed size, target particle size and acceptable wear contamination.
- Choose jar capacity from the working sample load, leaving room for media movement.
- Confirm balancing, clamping and any cooling or atmosphere option for the exact model.
Key features
- Planetary milling and ultrasonic vibration can be combined in a compatible setup.
- Ultrasonic assistance may support dispersion in suitable liquid systems.
- Liquid circulation can help reduce local accumulation and adhesion.
- Variable-frequency planetary motion supports adjustment of the milling schedule.
Construction details
- An ultrasonic generator supplies the electrical excitation.
- A transducer converts the signal into mechanical vibration.
- A conductive slip-ring arrangement transfers energy while the system rotates.
- Precision gearing drives the planetary motion.
Configuration notes
Cavitation-based explanations apply to suitable liquids and operating conditions. Confirm the ultrasonic package, vessel compatibility and process temperature; dry powder milling does not automatically gain the same dispersion mechanism.
Technical specifications
Compare the exact model and configuration. Nominal vessel volume is not the usable sample load. Particle-size results depend on the material and process; confirm critical values in the quotation.
